Pastoral Group

The dogs in this group were bred for guarding and herding various kinds of cloven-footed animals. They have a thick weatherproof coat designed to be out in all weathers. They can be quite protective of their family and tend to be fairly easy to train. They are highly intelligent and can quickly become bored and destructive if not given a job to do.

As part of her final year research project, one of my friends from the Royal Veterinary College is doing research into breed-related problems in dogs. If you own or have owned a dog, please fill in her questionnaire or visit the Facebook group.
